Reportedly there are over 100,000 protesters out on the streets in Athens, a city of less than 1 million. Some violence – or at least property destruction – is taking place:
When the “international community” appoints a dictator who puts the country on an “austerity” even British tabloids refer to as “savage”, I think this is to be expected.
Before Syria falls apart, Greece will.
Update: Reports that the Greek police have run out of teargas. Budget cuts. And politicians offices around the country are being trashed.
Update 2: Greek parliament approved the austerity measures anyway, vote taking place at about 5:50 PM EST US.
